Clearing Ground This Winter

Each winter at Little Brympton we close the provision and enjoy the opportunity to clear, audit and organise our resources.

Out in the garden, we stay active with cutting back, hedge laying and forestry work, and as the season progresses, various mulch (or ‘habitat’) piles and wood stacks begin to emerge across the site.

This year, within the home and buildings, we’ve noticed a real sense of ease taking shape. Each item has been carefully considered and either removed or given a clear, accessible home. Floor spaces have been opened up, surfaces cleared, distractions reduced, and shelves, cupboards and containers allowed to breathe again.

We aim to mirror this feeling of ease and spaciousness in our daily routine too — removing unnecessary activities, softening transition times and easing potential pinch points.

We look forward to welcoming the children back soon. In the meantime, here are a few photos: the home play space, the maths and construction cupboard, puzzle drawer and studio space.
